Service and Commissioning Engineer

Due to recent growth we are looking for a Service and Commissioning Engineer to join our team.

The role:

  • Commissioning & developing automated machinery

  • Fault finding of control and safety systems at ATM and at customer sites

  • Servicing of mechanical and electrical systems

  • Modifications and enhancements to existing systems

  • Commissioning of machine control systems, machine performance testing, Factory Acceptance and Site Acceptance testing

  • Operator training of ATM machines both at ATM and at customer site

  • Programming of various robots, including 6-axis, SCARA & Delta

  • To communicate effectively to customers, suppliers and team members

  • Provide customer support that can include visits to customer’s site throughout the UK and to assist with the installation, commissioning and troubleshooting when required

  • Occasional oversees travel may be required

  • Working hours may vary depending on the requirement

Candidate profile:

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience relating to automation machinery

  • PLC coding/troubleshooting experience with the following equipment would be an advantage: B&R, Omron, Siemens, Mitsubishi

  • Understanding of Pneumatic circuits

  • Experience of programming and integrating 6-axis robots into automation systems would be advantageous

  • Experience of interfacing to Injection Moulding Machines would be an advantage

  • Must be self-motivating with a ‘can do’ attitude

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbal

  • Must be flexible and able to work away at short notice and work the hours required to complete the job

  • To work as part of a team of engineers
